For EFT payments you will need your supplier's ABN, Bank Account Number and BSB, plus an EFT reference. For BPAY you will need your supplier's BPAY Biller Code and BPAY customer reference number.

How do I make an ATO payment?

There are two ways you can pay the ATO, by bank transfer or BPAY. To make an ATO payment you will set up the Australian Taxation Office as your payee. This requires their ABN which is 51824753556. Then either enter their bank account details or BPAY biller code:

Bank: Reserve Bank of Australia
BSB: 093 003
Account number: 316385
Account name: ATO direct credit account
Reference: Your payment reference number (PRN).

BPAY®

Biller code: 75556
Reference: Your payment reference number (PRN).

Once you have set them up as a payee, you enter the amount owing, EFT reference provided to you by the ATO and your credit card details. If your payment is finalised on the RewardPay portal by 5pm AEST/AEDT on a business day, the payment will be paid out by RewardPay the next business day but may not show receipt until the following business day. Please give yourself extra time if making a payment with a specific deadline i.e. ATO or Superannuation. We recommend leaving 3 to 4 business days.

How do I make a Superannuation payment?

To make a Super payment you set up your clearing house as your payee (not the individual super funds). You will need to have your clearing house ABN, BSB, bank account number and relevant EFT reference. You make one single payment to them. The clearing house will then distribute the funds to the individual super funds for you. (if under 20 employees and under $10M turnover you can use the ATO super stream clearing house for free).

Are there any restrictions on who I can make a payment to?
